With this piece I wanted to show a victorious warrior-general, possibly bored or disgusted at her defeated opponent. I'm used to using darker muted colors, so this was a bit different for me. I've wanted to make an underwater creature for a long time, and since I never want to draw a mermaid I thought that an octopus lady would be more fun. I like flowy tentacle stuff, and hopefully the minimal background isn't distractingly barren. This is a recent promo sample I made, inspired by great environment painters like Armand Serrano. I tried to give the jungle as much personality as I could, and even though I shadowed him up a bunch I tried to accessorize the shaman as much as I could.
